How To Be Happy

I wanted to let you know that I’ve just published a new book, How To Be Happy – A Practical Guide To The Most Essential & Overrated Pursuit of Your Life.

It’s available as an ebook right now on Amazon.

Contrary to many ‘positive thinking’ and ‘you can do anything’ tomes that populate the bookstore shelves and online search results today, I encourage readers to embrace life’s contradictions and ambiguities, as well as its limitations and reality, in order to be happy.

True to form, I rarely mince words, but I think the book has its entertaining moments. Probably influenced by my recent readings of French philosopher Michel de Montaigne, How To Be Happy keeps both of its philosophical feet firmly on the ground and acknowledges the ironies that fill our daily lives.

I start with the title, coupling the ‘essential’, eternal nature of the pursuit of happiness with its current ‘overrated’ status in our contemporary culture. Every chapter disagrees with the chapter that follows it. Both sides have their merits. None emerges as an unqualified victor, until we arrive at the last chapter.

I will leave that for you to discover.

I hope you enjoy it. As always, I appreciate everyone’s support. Thank you.

  1. Byron, I just finished your book. And I am pleasantly surprised. I should not have been surprised as I love your Old Money Book, but I was unsure of what this book would be like. I was not disappointed and I am thankful for your insights and the insights you have given to both myself and others through your books. Thank you.

  2. This sound like a wonderful topic for a book. “Positive thinking” cults come and go. Anyone remember “the secret” or napoleon hills “think and grow rich”. Utter nonsense. I look forward to your straightforward, practical advice. As always, keep up the good work.

  3. Hi Byron, I just finished reading the Old Money Book and I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.
I wonder if How To Be Happy is published in paperback version as well? Thanks again!

    1. Hi Jessica, thank you for the kind words about the book. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I haven’t published How To Be Happy in paperback. Sorry. Please enjoy the blog and the books. Warm regards, BGT
