Old Money, Unanswered Questions

“What are people looking at all the time on their cell phones?”

“Where do people go dressed like that?”

“Who buys all this junk?”

“Do all these young men wearing ‘cargo shorts’ actually work on ships?”

“Could we possibly go somewhere that’s a little quieter?”

  1. Tentative answers:)

    1. All and nothing at all.
    2. Wherever fate takes them.
    3. Somebody does… One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
    4. In their dream world, perhaps.
    5. Yes, we could, but “nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.” (c)

  2. … and what would you expect form this mass culture? Democracy is rolling! Get out of the way! Somewhere where you can ask about Baudelaire’s view on this democrazy, if still in Paris.

  3. Questions I have asked my husband in the last month:

We are in a museum, those young people are with their classmates, why are they all looking at their cell phones instead of talking to each other or looking at exhibits?

Why in the world is she leaving her house while carrying a designer bag and wearing pajamas?

Do we need to leave and go somewhere quieter so you can actually think?

Your questions made me smile. I am enjoying catching up on all of your blog posts.
